Hot Toys is starting to throw teasers up now.

I figured I'd start a new thread for all the upcoming news/pics.

The pic they're using for their teaser is of the 1:4 bust though.
I'm really hoping they'll give us a new sculpt, like they did with the Predator.

They way they're making it sound, we might see something at today's Tokyo Toy Fair.

They definately went with the look from the bust in the facial part of the sculpt.

Not exactly what I was hoping for, but I'm still getting it.

I think the dome should be less translucent. Not in this model only, there are many in which this thing seems to be forgotten.

Still seems t be a lot of made up shit in that sculpt, but it looks better than I had hope for. For now.
Let's wait and see the legs and back tubes... also, it's a full suit like the Medicom version, so we can kiss the stooping pose good-bye.

I'm pretty dissapointed to be fair. I hadn't expected HT to really make an accurate version, however a small part of me but hoped. 

Still in saying that it's only the first pic, so it's hard to judge right now. Hopefully it'll grow on me.

WTF crap its noware close to movie accurate --hopin this is just a prototype..  im not impressed  but im still gona have  to have it
 first thing id do is pull off the dome and resculpt that cheesy  skull , then repaint the whole friggin thing.

  The body is ok but the front part of the head (dome + skull + lips + tongue) is quite dissapointing.
Need to see more before making my mind.

We need to convince NECA that they should make their aliens in 1/6 scale. I'm sure those would sell great. And since there would be new molds, they could even address some of the issues on the dome of the Giger alien and the placement of the jaw.

Well, I like it somewhat, but I'd like to see the figure when it's closer to the final product. I like the detail in the body and arms.

Changes that I hope are made:
-dome needs to be tinted slightly darker or frosted a bit (the inner skull is hardly visible at all in the movie, it's only in pre-production photos that you can really see it clearly)  
-body paint apps need to be a lot darker, nearly black to appear more movie accurate (it only really looks brown when expelled from the airlock at the end of the movie)
-the shape of the mouth, or 'lips', looks too round to me  

Hot Toys has a tendency to change a lot of things from prototype to production figure (remember Kane?), so hopefully this isn't final in any way. It's a damn good start though.

This was going to be my first (and probably only) Hot Toys Alien-related purchase (got to have something to keep all my Preds happy - they get bored having nothing to blow up) - but based on this initial pic I am not impressed.

I'll be watching for updates with expectation, hope, and my wallet

One thing that is seriously disappointing me right now is that I don't see the extra thumbs on the hands pictured.
If they leave that out, it'll just look like Alien warrior hands...and I'm gonna be pissed!

I know that there are some features that are not "accurate" but I have to say that I do like the way the eye sockets on the skull are elongated and look less human.  This is the one thing that has always bugged me about some of the other alien versions in that the top of the skull (nasal cavity and eye sockets) resembles a human skull.  What are the dimensions?  I personally favor aliens that are large enough to scare the neighbors.

The more I look at this the more disappointed I am.

The dome/skull is really starting to get to me.
I mean, how hard is it for them to get that right?

Do they not care as much about the Alien fans as they do the Pred fans?

They tried very hard to get the original Pred right.
Why not this?

Hot Toys...you're about to lose another customer.

It's frustrating man. Hot Toys manage to create some of the best figures out there and are pretty much second to none at the mo. Hell, they even managed to get the AVP line pretty much spot on. Why on earth they keep going for artistic interpratations for the Aliens, Alien 3, Alien versions?

In fairness it's best to wait for some more pix, but I'm feeling pretty gutted right now.

Looks like the extra thumb is actually another finger on this sculpt.

Damn Hot Toys...way to NOT pay attention to anything Giger did.

And the base is cool.

Where are you getting these awesome pictures, Sabres?!  

Overall, not bad, but I'm still having  issues with the mouth and "face", which I really hope they change to something more accurate, like this:


When you look at this pic and scroll up to the last profile pic of the figure's head, you can really see the difference!

Hum! Except from the front part of the head and the xtra finger, this figure is starting to look more interesting.
But the front head is way to elongated and underneath the dome, the skull is completly wrong.
It should looks more human just like in the movie.
Maybe it was necessary to integrate the mecanism for the tongue.
If it is then HT you should just remove it and make the head screen accurate.
It would be a shame to ruin this figure with such mistakes.
I hope the final product will be largely improve.
For now I'm waiting for the revoltech Alien and pray for more pictures at the tokyo toy fair.

I'd be really happy with it, if they'd just make the skull more "human".

To me, this looks like it birthed from one of the "Grey" aliens from a UFO somewhere.

MUST get this! 
It is a fixer upper, for sure, but I WILL HAVE ONE!
I do like it. WAY more than that ALIENS thing that they did, that so many folks defended. It was cool in a way, but too stylized. At least this one is TRYING to be Giger's. The inner eyes on the skull lose me. Weird. I never liked those anyway, so when I get mine, and darken that dome, I will just obscure those. A good fine sanding, subtle repaint of the dome, and regloss should fix that.
The hands...we'll see.
The mouth, LET ME AT IT! I will sculpt each damn tooth if I have to, but I want to! The mouth has possibilities. If I can fix this mouth, and the tongue still work, I am ok with it. Might even add lips.

All in all, BETTER than I thought HT would do. I had very little faith.

The full side shot has me convinced I'll crack and buy this. I do rather like the colour scheme. No it's not movie accurate the Medi and NECA top it very much in that respect. However it's growing on me. I can't wait to see Les' mod!
