So today, I went with my family to Manchester, which turns out is home to a HUGE range of shops stocking collectors items..!
I came home with a few tidbits and a peice that I absolutely adore. The pictures are in links because they are, unfortunatly, rather large.

First of all, a book I've been looking for, Steel Egg. I'm not very far in yet, but it seems quite good and the authors notes made me laugh.
Steel Egg book

Next, a bargain buy for one pound, a squishy AvP2 (yeah I know) notebook.
Box
Book
Pages

Another steal, an AvP plate featuring the Alien for £9.99 that is apparently 1 in 500.
Front; I love the detail on this
Back with a guest appearance from my hunter edition facehugger

Now some freebies I picked up from my local gamestation store. I had to trapse all over Liverpool to find a store that still had displays in that hadn't already been claimed or destroyed.
Two of these celing hangers, they're quite large and very sturdy. Not to mention double sided.

My favorite freebie but not my favorite thing I picked up
A giant alien windowsticker. Part of me wants to stick it on my window, but the collector in my is screeching how I'll never get anything like this again.
Close up of the giant sticker.

Now my absolute favorite steal of the day. I saw this at the back of the display case in forbiden planet along with the predator combistick and scar predator mask, priced at £199. When they got the box down for me, turns out it was reduced to £79.99
Big box is biiiig
A rather unusual thing that I'd never seen before now.
Apparently number 465 out of 1500.
Egg pit.
Alien mountain. Notice the one particular alien that you can sort of see sticking up at the side.
Yes its a snowglobe too.
Obligatory artistic shot. Queeny and pred fight it out.

I'm going to be using a special plate display for the warrior plate. And it says on the back that it may be 'harmful to eat from' xD

Thanks for the story, the post AND all the pics QP  yes punk rocker

The "Steel egg" novel is pretty good, but the 2 that follow are even better: "Criminal Enterprise" and (best so far) "No exit".

Queeny pants bought the book I wanted, she went there about 2 hours before I did, so wanted that book.

I also did a haul of the very same store when I first went there, must have spent way over £150 on Alien and Predator stuff, they even had them small Hot-Toys egg figures, but they weren't there very long, wish they still had them.

I posted this before somewhere - but if anybody is having problems getting hold of these books then let me know - I have a local comic store that gets hold of ALL of them no problem.

I would have thought you could order them online as well  don't know

Yep - here you go (only the last 2 novels though): http://www.tfaw.com/Search/_results_invstatus_search=instock/_results_limit_search=30/_results_order_search=title/_results_prod_type_search=Books/_results_sstring_search=aliens%2Balien

The shop I go to, were Queeny also went to, normally gets them, I have no trouble finding them and they are cheaper in the shop than online.

It was just that I think it was the last 'Steel Egg' book there, they usual get more in soon.

But, thanks anyway  punk rocker

Thank you, not sure what number this forum is in my list of joined forums, some I have totally forgot about and some just died, lost in a sea of forums, but I really love this one, cool look to it.
