The more I look at it, the more it looks like it might be "clinging" to those pipes (or whatever that is). Whatever it looks like, I'm gettin' it.

What a nice announcement! Gotta wait a week before seeing more of it. But after the alien warrior dio, I'm not too sure to buy this one. Wait and see.

Sideshow has posted a new sneak peek at this beauty. They way it looks so far, it's not "clinging" to anything...but perched atop something. Unless the first teaser is just a mirror image, then both of it's arms are hanging down by it's sides. http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=7039&utm_source=cc09-boothmap&utm_campaign=cc09

Yeah - if you're willing to spend $800 USD on "lego legs balanced on drainage pipe" I mean - let's be honest - with a bit of talent and imagination the "Aliens" design could have been worked into something SO MUCH BETTER Sideshow's "product assessment department" should be hung drawn and quartered for the utter crap they have so far shared at SDCC. .

I understand that the reason for the compact pose is to cut down on cost by allowing the item to be shipped in a smaller carton. I would have loved an upright pose, but this thing is pretty badass.

They could have saved the same amount of "packing space" by cutting down on the base.
A smaller base and a more upright Alien would have been better.

WOW!!! The colors are rich and accurate. Maybe Hots Toys can get a clue! Maybe Sideshow should start making Alien movie based action figures.

I second that. This base is ridiculous, ugly and given the price tag, the most expensive ever. SS you piece of , how could you screw this one by lack of creativity. You completly miss the point here. Why not use a flat alien organic structure as a base? It would have been so much better. I'm so sick of their I'm almost on my way to remove this one from my list. I hate the idea they could make a lot of cash out of it. They deserve a big kick in da ball instead. At $800 I wish it was a joke...at our expense. SDCC is finally packed with a lot of disappointment this year.

Here's a quick shot with a person, for scale. I don't know if that's $800 worth of Alien though.

$800 bucks as much as i like it thats a bit steep! Exactly, and considering as mentioned before how similar the sideshow diorama is to this and for a fraction of the price. $800 is pretty insane. Beautiful piece tho.

The image with Scott is a poor indication of size. By watching the podium video you'll get a better idea. It's bigger than it appears.

I still don't think it warrants an $800 price tag.
But, that said, I'll still get it.
I may go through an outside vendor for this one though, and get it a little cheaper.

...by the way, is he going to make a in a moment ? I must say that due to the price it's just not affordable for me, but I am proud i got the aliens dio, which i think looks more dynamic. Despite these fingers (sometimes designers love to add too much in their sculpts ;) ) this statue looks good, should be even better in person. And the flash from camera definitely ruins the true look of this maquette. Regards

The warrior is my favourite design. I was expecting a maquette for so long. And look at this...FAKING CRIMINAL. I dunnot complain about the pose and the paint job is pretty cool. But I was expecting something different, original, more impressive. Not a nice half statue / half base dio (only worth $400) and sold for....$800! No way man! I'm really pissed. I want a real maquette to reflect the true nature of the mighty alien warrior.
